Drift Patches / Backings

Custom Magnetic Patches

Custom magnetic patches offer removable attachment for suitable applications. The holding method depends on the receiving surface or matching component, so describe the full setup before choosing magnetic backing.

Check what the magnet will attach to

Magnets do not hold to every metal or ordinary fabric by themselves. A magnetic uniform patch may need a matching component behind the garment. Surface shape, fabric thickness and movement affect the hold, so provide those details with the artwork.

Plan removable identification

Magnetic name patches and logo patches can suit applications where visible stitching is undesirable. Keep weight and placement in proportion to the attachment. A patch used on a stationary display has different holding needs from one worn on clothing throughout a shift.

Confirm handling and suitability

Ask for product-specific handling guidance and consider whether magnetic components are suitable for the wearer and surrounding equipment. Do not select a magnetic attachment for a safety-critical role without an application review. Check the care process and remove components when instructed.

Questions about custom magnetic patches

Will a magnetic patch stick directly to clothing?

Clothing usually needs a compatible backing component for a magnetic hold. Describe the fabric and assembly so the correct arrangement can be quoted.

Can I use it on any metal surface?

No. Some metals are not attracted to magnets, and coatings or curves can affect the fit. Identify the actual receiving surface.
