Custom Sublimated Patches

Custom sublimated patches use dye sublimation on a compatible base to create detailed color artwork. They suit designs where a flat printed image, tonal transitions and multiple colors are central to the result.

When dye sublimation fits the artwork

Sublimation patches are worth considering for illustrated crests, full-color logos and sports graphics that would be difficult to separate into a few thread colors. Supply a high-resolution source and allow for a border or cut margin. Small lettering still needs sufficient contrast and physical space to be readable.

Understand the base and finish

Dye sublimation depends on a suitable material, commonly a polyester-based surface. It is a process choice rather than a guarantee that every fabric or finish can be used. Confirm the base, edge treatment and desired hand-feel before approving a design intended for clothing.

Plan sports sublimated patches

For team sets, keep crest proportions consistent across jersey sizes and list any season or sponsor variations. Choose attachment to suit the garment fabric and laundering routine. Compare a sample where color matching to an existing uniform is especially important.

Questions about custom sublimated patches

When should I choose sublimation over embroidery?

Consider sublimation for a flatter full-color image with gradients or fine illustrated detail. Choose embroidery when raised thread texture is the priority.

Can the patch match a jersey exactly?

Fabric and printing differences can change perceived color. Provide a reference and discuss sampling before expecting an exact visual match.
